Actor: Keanu Reeves

In order to understanding acting for the camera, the up-and-coming stars latch on to studying the intriguing learning style of Keanu Reeves. On September 2, 1964 in Lebanon, the actor Keanu KC Reeves graced Samuel Nowlin Reeves Jr and Patricia Taylor along with his two half-sisters with his existence.

According to cinelinx.com, Reeves frequently found trouble throughout highschool including the Etobicoke School of Arts. He was not convinced in his life if he even wanted to be an actor growing up. Catholic school straightened him up where he discovered a passion in Hockey as a Goalie. After an injury, Reeves stepped away from hockey and spent time with his Step father as a stage assistant before he decided to take on an acting role in film production in 1986 with his first film Boys on the River and then landing his starring role in Broad Shoulders and Violent Justice.

To quote Boredpanda.com, “The Canadian-American actor and musician gained fame for his starring role performances in several blockbuster films, including comedies from the Bill and Ted franchise (1989–1991); action thrillers Point Break (1991), Speed (1994), and the John Wick franchise (2014–2019); psychological thriller The Devil's Advocate (1997); supernatural thriller Constantine (2005); and science fiction/action series The Matrix (1999–2003). He has also appeared in dramatic films, such as Dangerous Liaisons (1988), My Own Private Idaho (1991), and Little Buddha (1993), as well as the romantic horror Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992).”

Mensjournal.com said that Keanu took physical and tactical training serious before he even walked on set to film. His passion for learning how to perfect his acting skills continues to wow the world.

When it came to preparing for the second John Wick Movie, JJ Perry is quoted on americanshootingjournal.com saying, When I got a call from the director, saying ‘what can I do to make two better?’ I said, ‘well, we have to make Keyanu Reeves better’, and the only way to do that is to train him harder. As soon as I met Taran I saw him shoot and I was like, ‘this is our guy’.”

Mixedmartialarts.com has an article about Keanu where David Leitch and Basil Iwanyk praise him. “Keanu went through extensive training, probably four solid months. And I don’t mean like an hour every day doing push ups and sit ups. I mean five days a week, eight hours a day. Gun training, martial arts training, driving training.”

Most film goers are turned off of bad acting skills in action movies when actors treat guns like they are holding a puke bucket. When the guns are handled like a tool extension of their hands like they should be, the actors come across as fit for the action. Because of Keanu’s commitment to learning every aspect of action, mystery and adventure including the art of 3 gun competition, the fans increased and flocked to the John Wick chronicles.

He isn’t just about the tactical and physical fitness when it comes to acting for the camera, Reeves also switched up his diet for Point Break and the Matrix according to therichest.com.

Researching Keanu has given me more respect for the industry and the actor. I discovered that acting especially for action films are far more physically demanding than just saying a few lines in front of the camera. There is a ton more preparing to do like months or possibly years in advance. It might be off topic, but I discovered that Keanu has a fascination for Italian like I do.
