Bandage Fear with Love

Healthcare

Nowadays, the greed of money is overtaking the healthcare not only for the body but for the mind. Pills are supposed to fix the symptoms of abuse and neglect but all they do is fix a bullet wound with a bandaid. Here's the actual truth. It's time to change the world. Change the world with love, respect, hope, kindness and faith.

Bandage Fear with Love

I had a male friend today tell me to start holding hands with people like my children in order to start connecting. The sad reality is that I spent many years living with a man who denied me touch. I remember pleading with him, "You hurt me. If you can't apologize, could you at least hug me?" His reaction should have sent me running across the Sahara. He crossed his arms and stepped back, staying completely silent. I was trapped in the Stockholm syndrome, desperate for him to love me like I loved him. Today, I told my ex I believed he was a good man and that I live a life where I wasn't trying to get revenge on him like he did on me. I told him things he did to hurt me including teaching my boys that I was nothing more than a housewife. "You loved your ego more than you loved and respected me." Instead of apologizing for driving a wedge in between my son and I, he told me I was delusional and had a distorted reality. Yes. I had a distorted reality where I asked for him to help me clean our bedroom and he refused. I told him that my brother had given us gift cards for him to take him on dates. When I asked for a divorce, I had 7 years worth of gift cards. Yes. He made money. Yes. I was just a housewife, farmer, cook and housekeeper. But I was not treasured. Wives and partners want to be treated like an equal. Whenever I talk to one of my kids about love and positive attitude, they can't stand it. I am trying to bandage fear with love, but they have lived in so much hate where they reject love's true form.

Love builds Bridges

Love is one of the most potent forces that can shape human lives. It is an emotion that transcends barriers, mends broken hearts, and creates unique bonds between individuals. The importance of love is exponentially amplified in the lives of children, adults, and those who have suffered from abuse. In this blog post, we explore why each of these groups desperately needs love, as well as the shortcomings of merely suppressing pain with medication.

Why children need love:

  1. Children are like sponges, absorbing the world around them and forming impressions that will shape their lives. A nurturing, loving environment is crucial for their holistic development.

a) Emotional development: Love provides the foundation for healthy emotional development in children. It fosters feelings of security, self-worth, and confidence, enabling them to form healthy relationships in the future.

b) Cognitive development: Feeling loved and supported encourages children to explore and learn, stimulating their brain development. Love helps them develop cognitive skills, such as problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking.

c) Sense of belonging: Love helps children feel a sense of belonging, reducing the risk of anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues. It promotes a strong bond with their caregivers and other significant people in their lives.

2. The Significance of Love for Adults:

Although adults may not always actively seek love, the need for genuine affection, care, and support remains at the core of their emotional well-being. Here's why adults require love:

a) Emotional fulfillment: Love nourishes the soul, allowing adults to experience joy, happiness, and emotional fulfillment. It provides solace during difficult times and bolsters self-esteem, leading to improved mental health.

b) Building connections: Love fosters deep connections, both romantic and platonic, enhancing overall happiness and combating isolation. Strong social support systems are vital for adults, leading to increased resilience and healthier coping mechanisms.

c) Self-fulfillment: Love helps adults recognize their worth, leading to a stronger sense of self-identity. It encourages them to pursue personal growth, achieve goals, and overcome obstacles, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling life.

3. The Healing Power of Love for Abuse Victims:

Abuse victims often carry emotional, psychological, and physical scars that require compassionate healing. Love plays a transformative role in their journey towards recovery. Here's why love is essential for abuse victims:

a) Restoration of trust: Love shown to abuse victims helps rebuild their trust in others and in their own instincts. Genuine care and support provide a foundation for victims to learn healthy relationship dynamics.

b) Emotional healing: Love validates the pain experienced by abuse victims and provides a safe space for healing. It helps them open up, process their trauma, and gradually build resilience.

c) Reclaiming self-worth: Love empowers abuse victims to separate their sense of self-worth from the pain endured. It replaces feelings of shame, guilt, and worthlessness with feelings of acceptance, self-love, and compassion.

4. The Shortcomings of Using Medication Alone:

While medication can be beneficial in certain cases, relying solely on pills to address emotional wounds is akin to covering a bullet wound with a band-aid. Here's why:

a) Masking symptoms: Pills may help alleviate immediate symptoms, but they often fail to address the root causes of emotional pain. They can mask underlying issues and prevent individuals from seeking deeper healing.

b) Dependency risks: Sole dependency on medication can create a reliance that hinders personal growth and the development of coping mechanisms. True healing requires addressing emotional wounds rather than suppressing them.

c) Lack of sustainable solutions: Medication offers temporary relief, but it does not provide sustainable, long-term solutions for emotional well-being. Combining therapy, support networks, and a foundation of love provides a more lasting path to healing and growth.

Love is a transformative force that children, adults, and abuse victims desperately need. It plays an integral role in nurturing development, healing emotional wounds, and fostering strong connections. While medication can provide temporary relief, it is not a sustainable solution for long-term emotional well-being. By embracing love, we can create a world that promotes healing, understanding, and genuine human connections.
