After I discovered the costs of writing and delivering a newsletter via snail mail to 100 neighbors, friends, and family over a span of two years, I retired. But when my fans complained, they suggested a simple solution: write a book. Listening to my audience, I started the attempt at writing books. Many seasons passed during my transition from Newsletter to Novel. Although I spent many years on gathering my thoughts together to form a book, there were yearly gaps when I literally hid from writing. I apologize because it stole lessons from you as my audience who will never know me on a personal basis.
Discouraging thoughts caressed my ears and I pondered if I should be writing a book at all. Many unaccredited individuals begged me to finish. I didn’t feel perfect, snooty, or the greatest roll model, but deep down, I knew that I must finish the project I started. Even if it only reaches those who were mad at me for finishing my Sci-Fi Novel. Strangers and acquaintances might consider me to be a strong good woman, but there are those individuals who consider me to be a horrible person (to say it politely). Even if that is the case, I will not dwell on those misunderstandings and negative feelings. Concentrating on those who need a little laugh, cry, or hug in their lives, I continue with my chin up and my smile big. Without individuals supporting me over the last decade, I would have been completely lost. Although some admirers enthusiastically came into my life, they abruptly left creating the constant roller coaster of worry, pride, hesitancy and joy. I discovered I learned numeral lessons in between strokes of the keys. Therefore, I am very grateful for the many opportunities and experiences. Throughout this writing experience, I put forth effort to become a better woman, wife and mother because of my conscience and you, the public, as my accountability buddies.
The subject of mothers is an extremely broad topic, therefore I can only share bits and pieces of the knowledge I gleaned. These experiences I share can in no way shape or form replaces the experiences that you and your family share. This little tiny piece of sand cannot compare to the mountainous topics which only you can live through or teach me. I strongly believe that people are not praised enough and therefore are weakened by not building blocks of strength underneath them to help empower them to become better individuals.
The under construction book “Motherhood Shushed:” did not contain a compilation of research. It embraces the inspiration for you to research what is good for your own path. Just as you would be involved in a conversation, listen carefully. Take the input you want or sigh out the input you don‘t want. Share my experiences with a friend. Who knows, maybe someone you know might need a boost in their hard day. Included stories are real and true, but several people wanted their stories shared but not their real names. Fictionalized stories to make a point are said as such. I apologize to my audience that I didn’t include things that you felt should be included. Keep your chin up and just keep learning. Thanks again for taking your time to read my blog entries for “Motherhood Shushed: Things Not discussed in Jr. High”. Although I have almost completely forsaken the book, I have started editing and uploading the book as entries in my blog.
With warm regards,
Jae.
